Refund policy
ALUARMOR – RETURN, REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY
1. GENERAL
At AluArmor, we want our customers to be satisfied with their purchases. This policy explains how returns, refunds and cancellations are handled.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or limit any rights that a consumer may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, or other applicable South African legislation.
2. CANCELLATION OF STANDARD STOCK ORDERS
If you wish to cancel an order for a standard stock item, please contact AluArmor as soon as possible.
Where the order has not yet been dispatched, specially procured, modified or put into production, we will endeavour to accommodate the cancellation.
Where reasonable costs have already been incurred in processing, procuring, packaging or preparing the order, these may be taken into account to the extent permitted by applicable law.
3. MADE-TO-ORDER & VEHICLE-SPECIFIC PRODUCTS
Many AluArmor products are manufactured specifically for a particular vehicle make, model and model year.
These may include:
• Bullbars
• Front bumpers
• Rear bumpers
• Vehicle-specific mounting components
• Customised products
• Products manufactured with customer-requested modifications
• Products with customer-selected colours or finishes
• Special powder-coated products
• Products manufactured or modified according to customer-supplied requirements
Customers should therefore confirm their vehicle details and product selection carefully before placing an order.
Where permitted by applicable law, cancellation of a made-to-order, customised or vehicle-specific product after manufacturing has commenced may be subject to a reasonable cancellation charge.
The cancellation charge will depend on the circumstances of the particular order and may take into account work already completed, materials consumed or ordered, components specially procured, powder coating or finishing already completed, supplier charges and other reasonable costs resulting from the cancellation.
Custom-made or personalised goods may also be excluded from certain statutory cooling-off rights where applicable.
4. DEPOSITS
Payment of a deposit confirms the customer's intention to proceed with an order and may allow AluArmor to purchase materials, allocate production capacity and commence manufacturing.
A deposit is not automatically treated as forfeited simply because an order is cancelled.
Where cancellation occurs after AluArmor has incurred reasonable costs or commenced manufacturing, any amount retained from the deposit will be determined according to the work and reasonable costs already incurred and applicable South African law.
Where the refundable portion of a deposit exceeds any lawful cancellation charge or other amount due, the balance will be refunded to the customer.
5. INCORRECT VEHICLE OR PRODUCT SELECTION
AluArmor products are generally manufactured for specific vehicle applications.
Customers are responsible for selecting the correct vehicle make, model and model year when placing an order.
If you are uncertain about compatibility, please contact AluArmor before ordering.
Where the customer supplies incorrect vehicle information or selects the incorrect vehicle application and AluArmor correctly manufactures or supplies the product according to that information, return or cancellation options may be limited, particularly where the product was manufactured specifically for that vehicle.
Where possible, AluArmor will endeavour to assist the customer in finding a reasonable solution.
This provision does not affect any rights the customer may have where AluArmor supplied an incorrect product or provided incorrect compatibility information.
6. CUSTOMER-REQUESTED CHANGES
Changes requested after manufacturing has commenced may result in additional charges.
Changes may also affect the estimated completion date.
Certain changes may no longer be possible once cutting, bending, welding, powder coating, finishing or another relevant production stage has been completed.
7. CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURNS
Where AluArmor voluntarily accepts a change-of-mind return that is not otherwise required by law, the product should generally be:
• Unused
• Unfitted
• Uninstalled
• Undamaged
• Unmodified
• Complete with all supplied parts and mounting components
• In its original condition
• In its original packaging where reasonably applicable
Prior approval must be obtained from AluArmor before returning a product.
Made-to-order, customised, specially finished, modified, installed or vehicle-specific products may not qualify for ordinary change-of-mind returns, subject to applicable law.
8. FITTED OR INSTALLED PRODUCTS
A product that has already been fitted to a vehicle may show installation marks or other signs of use and may therefore not be suitable for an ordinary change-of-mind return.
This does not remove the customer's rights if the product is genuinely defective or if AluArmor supplied an incorrect product.
9. INCORRECT PRODUCTS SUPPLIED BY ALUARMOR
If AluArmor supplies a product different from the product ordered, please contact us promptly.
Please provide:
• Your order or invoice number
• Your vehicle make, model and model year
• Details of the product received
• Photographs where reasonably required
Where AluArmor is responsible for supplying an incorrect product, we will arrange an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law.
10. GOODS DAMAGED DURING DELIVERY
Customers should inspect delivered goods as soon as reasonably possible.
If a product or its packaging appears to have been damaged during transport, please:
• Take photographs of the packaging before removing it where possible
• Take photographs of the damaged product
• Retain the packaging
• Record visible damage with the courier or freight provider where possible
• Contact AluArmor promptly
Please do not install a visibly damaged product where installation could cause further damage or make assessment of the original damage more difficult.
AluArmor will assist in assessing the matter and, where appropriate, dealing with the relevant courier, freight provider or insurer.
11. DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS
If you believe that an AluArmor product has a manufacturing defect, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
We may request photographs, videos, vehicle information or other reasonable information to assist in assessing the problem.
AluArmor may require a reasonable opportunity to inspect the product.
Where goods are found to be defective, unsafe or unsuitable, the matter will be dealt with in accordance with applicable South African consumer legislation.
Nothing in this policy limits a customer's statutory rights regarding defective goods.
12. POWDER COATING & FINISHES
Minor variations in colour, texture or appearance may occur between powder-coating batches and do not necessarily constitute a defect.
Normal wear, stone chips, scratches, collision damage, off-road impact damage, chemical damage or damage caused by improper cleaning or maintenance are not manufacturing defects.
Where a coating or finish is believed to be defective due to workmanship or manufacturing, please contact AluArmor so that the product can be assessed.
13. DAMAGE CAUSED BY INSTALLATION OR MODIFICATION
Damage resulting from incorrect installation, unauthorised modification, drilling, cutting, welding or alteration performed by the customer or an independent third party does not constitute a manufacturing defect.
Customers should ensure that AluArmor products are installed by a competent person and according to applicable fitment instructions.
This provision does not affect statutory rights relating to defects that existed independently of the installation or modification.
14. RETURN SHIPPING & FREIGHT
Customers must contact AluArmor before returning any product.
Due to the size and weight of bullbars, bumpers and related products, returns may require specialised freight arrangements.
Responsibility for reasonable return transport costs will depend on the reason for the return and applicable law.
Where a return results from an error by AluArmor or a defect for which AluArmor is legally responsible, return arrangements will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer legislation.
Where a voluntary change-of-mind return is accepted, the customer may be responsible for return transport costs where legally permissible.
15. REFUNDS
Once a return or cancellation has been approved, AluArmor will advise the customer of the amount to be refunded.
Approved refunds will be processed using an appropriate payment method.
Banking and payment-processing times may affect how quickly the refunded amount appears in the customer's account.
Any refund required by law will be processed within the period required by applicable legislation.
16. HOW TO REQUEST A RETURN, REFUND OR CANCELLATION
Please contact AluArmor before returning any goods.
Please provide:
• Your name
• Order or invoice number
• Contact details
• Vehicle make, model and model year where applicable
• Reason for the return or cancellation
• Photographs or other supporting information where applicable
Do not send large products such as bullbars or bumpers back without first contacting AluArmor so that appropriate freight arrangements can be made.
17. SOUTH AFRICAN CONSUMER RIGHTS
This policy must be read together with applicable South African consumer legislation.
Nothing contained in this policy is intended to waive, restrict or exclude any consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived, restricted or excluded.
